About the Author
Dr Wilfred Edward Shewell-Cooper was a British organic gardener and pioneer of 'no dig' gardening. He was a prolific author of gardening books and wrote the LAND GIRL MANUAL in 1940. His other books include GROW YOUR OWN FOOD SUPPLY (1939). He was horticultural advisor to the Army and organised the growing of vegetables on every scrap of Army land. This included small pockets of land around anti-aircraft guns, radar stations and in turn training soldiers tend the crops as part of the 'Dig for Victory' campaign. He died in 1982.

I used the "first iteration" of this book to prep for the PMI-ACP exam that PMI offers. I passed! When I saw that Crowe had released "Iteration 2", I wanted a copy to stay current. I'll explain...PMI recently released a preview of the 6th Edition PMBOK Guide and it includes (FINALLY) language about adaptive and agile practices. They (PMI) are committed to including agile methodologies along with traditional in the project management standard. So, I wanted to grab Crowe's latest book to stay fresh on Agile.

Here's the deal: if you want 1 source that will expose you to all things Agile and prepare you for the tricky exam, get this book. Crowe hits the major topics, goes deep where you need it, and gives practice tests and exam tips to top it off. His style is clear, easy-to-follow, and effective. The content is great. The quality of the printing leaves a lot to be desired. I have bought and returned two of these so far. I don't know if they print these things using inferior glue or what, but whole chunks of the book fall out. Let's hope the third time's the charm. Beyond that, the content seems to be on par with some video training I've gone through for this exam. I'm not taking it for another 3-4 months, so time will tell how complete it is for exam prep.

The strong points are the glossary which helps clarify the language that PMI uses and the sample exams. At the same time. this is absolutely bare bones text. If you have taken a prep class, this is good additional material. It will help you pass the exam. It will not help you master the material.

Howard Blooms new masterpiece

I have read many books on Islam, but Howard Blooms book just blew me away. The genius author of The Lucifer Principle and Global Brain applies his vast mind to the history of the Islamic faith and the terrifying consequences that we see unfolding all around in the modern world. Prepare to find out the shocking truth about the so called "religion of peace". Impossible to over praise.

Howard Bloom, the Double-Speak Traitor

Although I know Howard Bloom is telling the truth about Islam and its horror stories, I can’t help thinking that the author talks on both sides of his mouth: 1) to please the Muslims and 2) scare the infidels. I went through the whole book quite fast and didn’t find any "future" scenarios regarding Muslims fighting Muslims (correct me if I’m wrong since I browse the book more than I read it). The superorganism made only of Muslims will implode as the Muslims will be fighting among themselves like they are doing right now in the Middle East. In fact, when I was in Morocco, Muslims used to say put two Arabs together and they will fight! Islam is a cradle for psychopaths and it’s impossible for psychopaths to live together: there is too much negative energies even if they have the same enemies in common, The Infidels or the Nerds, like Howard Bloom calls them. Also Muslims never invented anything, not even algebra they claimed they invented. They are only here to destroy and maintain the perpetual arm wrestling between the good and the bad or the yin and the yang. With them, we will go back to the Dark Ages and believe me there never was Arabic Golden Ages since wherever Islam trespasses the civilization passes away (Ibn Khaldun).
Anyway no superorganism can survive, less one worldwide superorganism. It’s bound to eventually burst into pieces as the pecking order, greed for power, corruption, hatred, jealousy will always be omnipresent and omnipotent. However, it’s quite disconcerting to witness the apathy of the West who are too busy to satisfy their own materialistic narcissistic needs and scoff at those “unrealistic” threats. Like Howard Bloom I, very early in my life, sensed this kind of threat but I believe there is another bigger threat, the destruction of our planet. Who is going to destroy first: the big companies or Islam? That is the question.
NOTE: I did prefer “The Lucifer Principle” to “The Mohammed Code.” I read The Lucifer Principle three times and was delighted to discover new things even the third time. The Mohammed Code is a rehash of the history of Islam and his psychopath Mohammed but it’s worth reading, especially for those people who have no idea about what’s in store for them.

An Absolute Treat!

Little Ty was absolutely adorable and so darn funny! There must be a real-life Ty somewhere in Jeff Erno's life, because this little guy was so completely believable. His phrasing and the way he'd blurt things out, uncensored, was so realistic ("Sometimes I let them out of the cage, but Uncle Rex doesn't like it. He gets mad when they poop on the curtains."). I refuse to believe this little guy is merely a fictional character. That's how vividly he came to life for me. There were many laugh-out-loud moments for me throughout the book thanks to Ty.

But Ty was just one part of this soon-to-be family unit. The budding romance between Ty's adopted dad, Rex, and newcomer Josh was very sweet. Neither looking for love but unable to deny their instant chemistry and strong mutual attraction. Both of these characters were engaging and multi-dimensional. We get to see how certain events in their pasts have shaped their current paths in life, and we get to follow them on their journey to overcome the obstacles that threaten to prevent them from achieving their hopes and dreams.

Any child would be lucky to have parents as wonderful and loving as these two. :-)

A good fantasy gay novel

Who doesn't like a good fantasy every once in a while - beats real life most of the time. Nowadays gays get to go off into the sunset and live happily ever after - not like the old days when one of the pair had to die. Hell, everyone needs a good fantasy every once in a while.

this was a really great book and those that want to look at technical details probably should not be reading this... it is called gay romance and fiction... so those that want or have to be OCD should get over it...

the characters are great... story line very believable if you come from a small town... with bigotry and hate... Ty is just too cute in his lines and the main characters are great people...

kept me turning the kindle page even thru dinner.... lol... and it really is not a short book but could not put it down....

keep writing them... i loved it!!!

About the Author

David House has now written and published seventeen marine titles, many of which are in multiple editions. After commencing his seagoing career in 1962, he was initially engaged on general cargo vessels. He later experienced worldwide trade with passenger, container, Ro-Ro, reefer ships and bulk cargoes. He left the sea in 1978 with a Master Mariner's qualification and commenced teaching at the Fleetwood Nautical College. He retired in 2012 after thirty three years of teaching in nautical education.

About the Author
Charles W. L. Hill is the Hughes M. Blake Professor of Business at the University of Washington Business School in Seattle. His research interests focus on competition and competitive analysis, corporate strategy, international business, organizational structure, and corporate governance. Dr. Hill has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed academic journals and has served on the editorial boards of several top tier journals, including the Academy of Management Review and the Strategic Management Journal. He also is the author of a successful international business textbook. An active consultant, Dr. Hill has worked with numerous companies. He has worked with Microsoft for almost 20 years and continues to be active within that organization. He received his PhD from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.

Gareth R. Jones received his PhD from the University Of Lancaster, England, and he is trained in Economics and Organizational Theory and Behavior. His research interests include organizational design for performance, the evolution of business, and corporate-level strategy. Dr. Jones has published articles in all the major management journals and is co-author of several textbooks.

Excellent Book for All Leaders

Having this be a required book in a recent doctoral course on leadership, I was plesantly surprised by the content. This book should be required reading for all who are interested in strategic management, organizational change, and the future of business and industry. The examples are right-on, useful, and very meaningful. Anyone interested in environmental and internal scanning for an organization can use the simple model provided in the book. I would say this is one of the best books I have ever read on this subject.

Brief and to the Point

Business executives, like many professionals, are wary of all the garbage that poses as valid information. They need to cut through the noise to get the real meat, and they don't have a lot of time to wade through extraneous space-filling material that does not contribute to what they need to know.

The authors get right into content. They concisely but comprehensively, step-by-step, explain the strategic management process and techniques. No wasted time here. While based on rigorous research, the writing is succinct and thus making it a useful book for the busy executive who needs a comprehensive, useful and practical textbook to guide him/her in strategic decision making. It's a good business approach.

Book two misses the target.

I am disappointed in book two of the "Secret apocolypse" and even thought it was a struggle to finish I do think its worth a read. To me it feels like the author lost focus just after the beginning of the book and regains it just before the ending. I know its fiction but there are aspects I do not like such as a 19 year old black ops specialist that seem to have all the skill,knowledge,insights,and nerves of a man that has spent 20 years fighting in the field beyond the scope of the normal military. Next I didn't like that the story bounced around between virus story, zombie story, monster story (Resident Evil), to in-animate objects coming to life story. This book was all over the place and many times skills and abilities used in one tight spot were forgotten in another tight spot. Most of all I do not like the near scene by scene rip-off from the movie "Aliens". Having said all this I still believe it warrents being read. I have just bought the novella and I hope this and the upcoming part three to the series will be written with more care than this installment.

Confusing, badly edited and repetitive

I got 5 books from this series when they were free for the kindle. I will not be buying any more. I've read 5 books and while I enjoyed the first 2, they are fast going down hill. The plot is repetitive; save Maria, find shelter, and no progress is ever made. The characters keep having the same arguments and making the same bad decisions again and again. The sentence structure is awful with words missing or misplaced as well as lots of wrong word choices (passed instead of past, they're instead of their). It is also confusing trying to figure out which book goes first. Chronologically speaking, it seems like "Villains of the Apocalypse" should be first. It appears to follow the scientists as they are creating the OZ "zombie" virus. The Secret Journal has a part 1 and 2 while the other books are numbered 1 through 4. Maybe the author wrote a prequel and found out they were addictive and just kept writing one more prequel? It doesn't help when most of the books start with a scene and then go back to tell you how they got in this sticky situation.

The description on Amazon is a bit vague. Here's another one.

Three scientists have developed a virus intended for use as a weapon. They are testing it on various groups that no one should really miss (refugees, terrorists and people smugglers for example). There is a containment breach in the Australian Outback and in a short period of time, the country is overrun with zombies. A media blackout meant to control panic and prevent the story from getting out also keeps most of the world ignorant of the disaster. Most of the story is told from Rebecca's point of view, she is an average 16 yr old girl. Other main characters are: Maria Marsh (another teen with an immunity to the virus), Jack (Maria's boyfriend), Kim (Jack's older sister and a police officer in Sydney) and Kenji Yoshido (Rebecca's 19 yr old boyfriend and a marine sniper). The entire focus of the series is getting Maria Marsh out of Australia to the doctors who will hopefully create a cure.

There is a lot of running around Syndey and the Outback trying to escape monsters, looking for transportation, shelter, food and water. You also have religious fanatics sacrificing women and children to the zombies, mutant animals, giant zombies, and rogue nanobots that are animating machinery. I almost forgot, Kenji can see and talk to dead people.

A Great Story

This is such a great story! Super intense, lots of building tension. Surprisingly dry, not gory or bloody, but still scary. The characters are good. Their young ages may direct this book/the series to a high school age audience. There is a problem with missing and misused punctuation and poor grammar. The author's work(s) should be proofed before publishing, even on Kindle format.
